Hello everybody  Hello.

I live in the UK, but was born and raised in Zimbabwe of British parents. I am on a quest to find out more about gold detecting ie nugget hunting, and the construction of suitable types of detectors. My internet quest has repeatedly brought me to this website containing a motherlode of information.

My quest was initially started at the request of a relative living in Zimbabwe who asked me to find him a metal detector. Detecting The price of some of the machines on his wishlist left me shuddering and stunned with shock. Shocked I do realise that you pay for what you get in terms of value and utility. But still.......

So I have decided to try my hand at constructing a machine. or two  Smiley Am very interest in building the Goldscan Pulse IV that has a detailed thread here on thunting.

I look forward to the journey this takes me on. Rider

Thank You for reading my post.

greylourie.

 Welcome Greylourie,

Looks like you are going to be a very interesting addition to what is already a very interesting forum.   Glad to have you here.  Hope you find the answers.  (And I'm looking forward to seeing the machine and its finds.)

BA

Hi BA.  Great Thanks for the welcome. I hope to be as unobtrusive as possible. Cool

I notice from the threads I have read that there are a lot of strong minded, and very knowledgeable characters here on thunting.

I am struggling to retain the info I have picked up regarding various designs both here and on Geotech. I think more reading is required before I make that first step into construction of my first detector. Idea

Regards Greylourie.

Thanks Christian. Hello

Its getting late and after hours on the web, am starting to think that I might try the Hammerhead. Its a working and well laid out project. And should be sufficient (hopefully) to keep my relative back in Africa busy learning the pros and cons, whilst I too learn the pros and cons of more advanced designs. Idea

Regards
Greylourie.
