The Money Pit treasure along with the Lost Dutchman and Capt. Kidd was the first treasure stories many of us heard and are responsible for the crazy lives many of us have lived. Most treasure tails have a beginning with a story of buried loot or a map with a X. But not Oak Island it started in the middle with a unsuccessful recovery because some teenagers started to dig a hole. We may never know if anything is there are not but its one hell of a story.

Sadly I think will all of Dan Blankenship effort will come to nothing. Bloody mindedness like August Gissler on Cocos Island never really understood the rules of the game. They paid a have price for their obsession.
Seldom has nailed this one on the head.
Oak island will always be a mystery ingrained into the public imagination. That is why we have a host of conspiracy theories that you have already seen such as the the traditional Belief of Captain Kidd, Templar's or Freemasons, Vikings, Spanish other pirates such as Blackbeard.It is a story that has sparked all manner of claims. Created the most heated of debates and attracted the most radical and obsessed of people. Keith Ranville is one classic example.
All the researchers and treasure hunters have failed in their attempts. Because they have concentrated their efforts on finding a treasure. And not finding out who if any one was capable of constructing such a pit and if there was a reason to bury it there in the first place?
I have some very early documents regarding the alleged treasure story. I have an interesting theory on who might of constructed the pit and why?
Please let me know if any of you are interested? Because I have a much documentation to support my theory.
Unfortunately It will get noses out of joint with the true believers who want to believe in the myths. But the historical reality is there for all who care to look.

Hardluck, that question of who built the pit and how they did it has never been answered and never will be. The things they find at depth are simply from the sides of earlier excavations giving false hints that there may be something further down. Rather than using archaeological technique, the treasure blind fools all attacked it using every wrong technique they could. Like a crime scene, the evidence there is now suspect because of the centuries of contamination of the site.
The answer to the unasked questions will never be known.

You a correct about the money pit site that is like a crime scene archeologically contaminated by various of eras of treasure hunting. I am a little amused at the efforts of the Nova Scotian government to claim 90% of anything found after December. I didn't think 90% of nothing was really worth something. But then again I am not a politician. ;D
Personally I have not subscribed to most of the theories put forward. However there are 2 researchers, one based in Canada and another in England have made some interesting historical discoveries behind the myth of oak island. So I am toying with the idea of a new post about Oak Island.
