The link provided here tells the story of the Shohola Glen Switchback RR and Shohola Glen Amusement Park. At one time it was a thriving vacation spot and there were even tails of a lost silver mine that was worked by the Lenni Lenape Indians. I have explored the area a little but have not checked it with my MD. One day I hope to spend some time there looking for some relics and the lost silver mine. My last trip there was cut short by a severe thunderstorm and torrental rains. (Maybe I was getting too close to the mine and brought on some Indian curse. LOL )  There was also a civil war train wreck site in the area that may be worth checking for relics.

Enjoyed looking at the interesting web page with pictures, maps, etc - someone did a lot of research for you and I noticed that they even have more on another page - helpful folks  Smiley Those rowdy Scranton miners might have dropped the bag at least once and had a little loot jostle out? Beepin' good luck. Sue

I have been to the park location many times. If anyone would like to get together  and go sometime, let me know. offgridjoe@yahoo.com

Yikes. I have been close to there a zillion times in the last 35 or so years and never heard of it. Thanks for the info. In fact I was near there Saturday... however was outrunning the hurricane. Looks like a cool place to detect.
