Has anyone ever found relics or coins at an old late 1800's building school site locations where the building no longer exists. I'm just wondering if these locations are worth checking out. Seems like in those times, there wasn't pocket change like we carry today.

Schools, like churches, were centers of community activity---not just places for students to go to learn "readin', 'ritin', 'rithmetic".   While your coin total probably won't be as high as it would be at the saloon or the general store, it'll be higher than you think because of the other activities that used the school house and/or school yard.   As for relics...oh, yeah, they are there.  Kids haven't changed, pockets still get stuffed and stuff still gets lost.
