Is the top of the wall level and straight or does it follow the contours of the hillside? If level, it may be the foundation for an old mill - now gone. If not, it is likely just a wall. Either way, it was purpose built which always means a chance for relics or coins.

im thinking its a boundry marker as well.  but still not sure the top of the wall is level so maybe it could be a wall for a mill..  I have been asking around but know one seems to know much plus i trying not to give the spot away before i get to detect it Ill keep you posted

If and when you get out there, run you detector on top of the wall...I am thinking it might contain pipes to funnel water from an underground stream down the mountain...
