It's dated before the Declaration of Independence was adopted by the Continental Congress. That's so cool. I didn't know there was such a thing.

Cheers,
Barb

I'm sure the U.S. government will "buy" all you have.Or ask the FBI, they already know everything about those scams and they'll be in touch with you soon enough. Although there kinda sneaky, they'll lay low awhile and gather information about you and anyone you had  contact with in your lifetime before they contact you. Take a look out your window.. yep, those shiny things out there? those are binoculars, and rifle scope reflections.....I'd throw that computer away... along with your cell phone, credit cards and the tracking devices on your car and the one in your right shoe   Funny

Sorry, call me a skeptic, but the note looks awfully new to me.  It appears to have little aging to it.  The sides and corners appear too crisp and the ink seems too bright for it to be the age it appears to by.  Especially the red ink on the serial number.  With the types of inks used in those days, the red would have faded to a dirty brown and not remained so bright.

Don't be so hasty, mate. The person offering it may be offering something legitimate. Those notes did exist and do command a fairly high value. Here's a legitimate one on offer in an auction.

Mate, I know that but there are more people in this discussion, some of whom believe that such a note never existed.

There are lots of those notes around and that one may be real just altered. As Arfie point out the red ink would have faded to a dirty brown I have seen several altered colony notes in the last few years for sale on flea bay.
