Last post is a year ago so I don't know if problem was fixed or not but I noticed that the designation for Q1 was said to be 2N2686 but that is incorrect.  The proper transistor is a 2N2646 which is a p type unijunction, I tried to see what 2N2686 was with Data Sheet web site and they said it didn't compute.  I would say if you are not using the correct transistor in the Q1 spot.

Haikel,

I am at present gathering parts fot the A_PULSE2 and hope to have it done by the first of the year.  I had a devil of a time finding the 2N2646 (Q1) but finally found it at Digi-Key, or at least the equivalent, which they list as a J175_D26Z.  Had same problem with U2 but Digi-Key came to the rescue here also.  As to your situation I would try to find a J175 for the Q1 spot then with a good magnifying glass check every nanometer of the board for shorts between traces and possible bad solder joints.
