Does anybody have the PCB ( printed cicuit board ) layout for the  Bandido II u Max  ?  How far does the Bandido differ from the Bandido II ?   Cornelius

Hello Cornelius . I found some information for you !! Might take 2 posts so I do not get everyone Mixed up !!! The difference between the two is the newer Bandido II umax has [smd] suface mount technology , instead of Bandido II's through hole . The newer Bandido II umax has a threshold adjust . The newer Bandido II umax goes only slightly deeper and is more unstable at higher sensitivity settings . But the older bandido II field tests showed that for some reason it works better in mineralized  soil ? !!! This circuit board here done by Gary is 7.66 inchess wide and should not fit in the Bandido Umax housing . I have a Bandido Umax housing measurement of 6.25 x 3.5 x 2.125 inches. The Bandido II umax board should be 5.5 x 3.25 inches !!! See the next post !!

This looks like the correct circuit board and placement for the Bandido II umax , It has two or three small component errors which can be corrected but this will fit inside a Bandido II umax housing !!

Thanks Eugene this will help me on the way . I usually don't go for these detectors anymore but as a test I want to find out a few things . The components are cheap enough so why not go for it .  Cornelius

It sure seems like the original Bandido II [non-umax] works better in Bad soil conditions . Since there is no schematic for the Bandido II . You can build the Bandido II umax . But you will have to use the wide-scan DD search coil which will work better in Highly mineralized soil than the tesoro concentric !! The concentric coils are great in Gardens with beautifull "Purchased Top-Soil"  Grin

 Great.......................Eugene52

I will post more on this later !!
