New guy, second post.

Is the clone PI-2 a good detector for gold nuggets?  If so, are the boards available?  Is it possible for it to detect a 1/4 " flake at about 3"?

as long as the circuit is functioning for the purpose with small modification, frequency,delay.coil.
boards were available as the schematics and pcb pattern for fabrication. just search,

ram,

Welcome to the Forum Dooley1972 !! With your knowledge of circuits you should have 10 more posts in no time at all .
Do not forget to check the VLF Metal Detector section in the Tech Talk area of page 2 [The Message Boards] . Or you can type a subject line of any interest at the top right of the page under entire forum search .

Best Regards.........Eugene

cheers eugene , was a geo**** man , then thought i'd explore here , there is alot to get through , still exploring.

currently my mind is fixated on PI ,  and won't let me venture in the world of VLF , sorry , i find PI very very captivating.

new to metal detecting tech , but have been tinkering with electronics for 30 years ish , and can't believe i never tried building in this field before.
thing is , this field of electronics hasn't seemed to progress much,
we first had bfo , then vlf , and then pi , which has been with us for 30 years ish , but no "new" technolagy scince the 80's.
yes we now have ecu's involved but the basic principle roughly the same.
looking , learning ,studying in the hope of a new idea.

I'm having issues downloading schematic files...New guy second post. I'm looking for the clone pi avr schema's and board layout...any help help would be greatly appreciated.

Posted on: September 29, 2011, 11:42:59 PM
I am new to this forum as well, so i wont be able to download the schematics for the clone pi avr. for a while.
I've read that i need 3000 posts before i am allowed to download anything. I'm sure i wont build it anyway. and if i did, it probably won't even work, and if i did get it to work I'll probably be digging up rusty nails anyway.
so what's the point? Angry

hello eco1 ,

3000 posts a little on the high side , as far as i'm aware it's still 25 posts before you can download .

regarding a PI project , try either a simple analogue design for your first build , or a design with plenty of building info
to help you on the way ,
hammerhead , original blind squirrel , surf PI , sandbanks (the modified one) , gary's detector or proscan ,
hammerhead more complex model , but kits available from mr silverdog ,

regarding the negative rusty nail comment , there will also be plenty of ringpulls, tinfoil and bottle caps out there for variety. Smiley

Dang ECO1!    Even $5000.00 machines find the Nails!

And yes the post count is only 25 to get the down loads.

No big deal if you participate in the forums they go fast.
