Thanx for the encouragement guys...I am some what prety well versed in electronics. digital analog...mixed.
a simple pulse machine is really what im looking to build...from looking at whats available...I want a uP controlled machine
do to the fact that the digital aspects of the circuitry are prety much straight forward. Analog sections seem pretty std on all machines. So why not digitize?

If you want more control and/or analysis with your detector, you add a microprocessor. Using digital potentiometers and FET switches you can change frequencies by shifting from one tuned circuit set to another. On the other end, you can analyze your return signal for certain telltale signs that you have a target of a certain type. The possibilities are really quite astounding and most manufacturers only give you what they believe the consumer really wants. They never really task the internal computer to its maximum potential.

As the designer, you can be as demanding as you want. Good luck and have fun.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Just read the info about the clone 2, has any one in the US built this unit yet, if so how would you rate it? Charles Idea
