That's a great bit of work, Knight--thanks!  I would add the following though.  Because your nickels were on edge--an advantage is given to those of the machines that are gold field capable--the TDI and ATX.  Hitting the small stuff is not true depth.  As well, I think that the Dual Field would haven done better with less Gain--even at the preset.  Pulse machines are not at all immune to overtuning.  I routinely do targets at 20" plus with the Dual.  Your sweep speed was a bit fast for tryig to acquire deep signals as well.  Don't mean to sound critical--just my opinion. The TDI is for sure a cannon with great stabitly.  The only problem I had with mine was that it hit ripples in the black sand and spots were other hunters had taken stuff out.   There are worse problems around.  Just went behind anything though--like in your test.
Great work--I also like your emblematic shadow with five machines at the end!

Clive have you had a play with the TDI SL yet??  They have an incredible threshold and you can run the gain flat out if need be,

I've  Never messed with 0ne but everything I've read and seen it compares with the GPX 5000 for a hell of a lot less money.   Even can use the same coils if you want to pay the Mine Lab Prices.

Ya. the Standard was phenomenal--smooth as glass threshold and for sure the deepest machine I've used.  Even had it dry bagged to be spashproof.  Got a bit frustrated trying  to knock out the iron though--probably should have tried one of the Razorback coils. Might pick up another one for next year--nothing can touch it.  Problem with trying  to get rings with a gold machine is figuring out how to turn it down though--took me from one speck of foil to another.

G;day Clive, 2 or 3 months ago I bought the TDI SL and I have done a few tests with it and It is a lot deeper than they claim, even air tests are much greater than what they say, I have been doing a few battery tests which I still have yet to complete, But I will post them when I get the chance.

When you say the Standard are you talking about the First TDI or the TDI SL ??   I also bought the 7.5 coil DF with mine so I got two for it, You should check out the whites ProStar Head Phones they are the same as the Nugget Busters Only Black and have a life time warrenty.

Over here I paid about $1448 AUD which is not too bad I would go with the TDI SL because it is A lot smoother to use and you can Crank up the Gain to the Max where as the TDI Pro does not like running above 7 to 8+ and the threshold warbles a lot where as the SL is Perfect. Oh and you cant take the TDI Pro Batteries on a Plane Because they are Lithium.

Clive. I just provided the URL. Not my tests. Didn't see anywhere to give credit. Did see "detector comparisons".  I see your point about the coins on edge.
