Hello,

is some metal detectors, I can see the pipe or handle of the detector has connected to the middle of the disk (coil) and the detector box (circuits and batteries ... ) is placed horizontally above the disk (direct line)

is it not better that we make the handle like L shape?

I mean the pipe or handle be connected to the corner of the disk and because of the L shape of the handle, the metal detector box would not be in front of the coil.

More important than the position is the material of which the shaft is made. If you use metal, it will attenuate your signal so most detecctor designs use plastic for at least the end of the shaft. You can boil some water and let a piece of PVC get hot, then clamp it in a vice to squeeze it flat. Just the end where it connects with the coil. Your sensitivity will be vastly superior to one that uses a metal shaft.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Yes, definitely the pipe (handle) must be plastic or PVC or whatever non-metal, but what I want to know is that the coil transmits signals on both sides, downwards (to ground) and upward and both sides have the same power. if I am right, no metal detecting part such as the battery, box cable or whatever should be in coil view.

Yes  PI and VLF detectors produce the field extending from the Top and Bottom of the coil.    The Control box is not going to be within that field unless you have a REALLY SHORT rod and place it above the coil.  LOL   Any interactions caused by the Box ( Control Housing ) is going to be insignificant or nulled in the tuning or Ground Balance.

Little  field is  transmitted laterally or to the sides.

if the coil produces the field on both sides equally, this field could be large and deep, in case of bigger coils. Therefore the circuit box could be big and an easily detectable target for it, and it will disturb its operations. Because box and circuit are metal, but not ground, such as soil or mud to be removed as a disturbance.

I think the L pipe shape which put the box or cables away from the coil view is the best solution, you do not agree?

The box is always mounted so that it is not in the upper field. You cannot choose which field the electronics detects. All you can do is minimize the amount of metal in the fields, top and bottom. Except of course, that you WANT to find metal below the coil.

Please, for the love of God, stop asking the same question different ways. The answer will always be the same. If you put your box directly above the coil you WILL detect it and you WILL decrease your performance. You need to develop a Smith Chart for your coil (look it up on Google) and see precisely what your pattern is.
