xceed. In my opinion there is no better PI detector than the DBP1020 . I built two of them in order to find out if the results would be the same .  I found out that there may be some difference in the end result but by using the right parts this should not happen . You can use any kind of coil on this unit . I have four coils that do their own job . I also use a pinpointer on a long cable . This is done so I can drop the sensor through a very narrow hole . It is quite easy to build this unit but you have to be familiar with building detectors . It is not a unit that just anybody could build .  Do you speak Dutch ( Flamish ) ?    Cornelius

Cornelius,
Thank you for these remarks, I will start making this DBP2010 detector, it would be interesting to discuss with you more about it, fine tuning, etc. Yes, ik spreek nederlands.  Smiley

xceed . At the moment I am working on the PCB . Instead of using a different  PCB for the module ,  I am trying to get the whole thing onto one PCB . This will work the same but makes the  detector a little better looking . I will keep you informed about the progress I am making . Cornelius

Cornelius,
It would be interesting, I wait eagerly. About PCB design, do you know if at these frequencies, are there any special requirements, to avoid undesired eddy currents, of interferences?

Hello HighAltitude & all others.

I am anxious to see your DBP 2010 board layout even if it is untested.  Sure beats starting from scratch.
Please post ASAP, I'm hot for the project.

Thanks,   Phil

Hi Cornelius

I am very interested in your board design.  Any board info that you can send along would be appreciated.  (Phil770@aol.com)

Yes, I have made PCB's but am not equipped to make one.  I do not have the photo equipment to print to the board.   But I have the ferric chloride etching agent.

Thanks,  Phil

Phil I don't know how handy you are , but I wrote an article on this forum on how to make a cheap UV light box to print the PCB on the copper layer .   The printer of your computer will do the job of copying the print in a book onto semi transparent paper . This copy you use to print on the copper layer .  Cornelius
