Is 4538 PIN 10 switching ?   Just static voltage ?

yes thats right ..both of the 4538 is 2.5 volt and nothing more ... Is that the problime

  There Mono Stable Flip Flop, yest they should be actively switching.  They are being used for your Sampling timing.  If their dead it's not sampling. 

Are you measuring in the DC or AC Range?  Use a Speaker to check them and see if it produces a BUZZ sound.

hi ...
I chang the cd4538 both of them
now i get 4.75 volt in pin 10 in 4538  ic 2....
And i get 2 volt in pin 10 in 4538 ic 3
i try the headpone and i get in the first one a buzz and the secand no very low voltag going out just 2 volt ...
I  try to remove the both ices of 4538 and i turn on the detector ....its work the same even without 4538 nothing chang....so what you think now ...both 4538 not working right

its the same ....witch number of this ic is working

i swear i made this detector and  do every thing right ....but not working ....
I try lf357 and tl 081 and tl071 and lf353
i try also tl062 and tl072 and tl82
the 4066 i use cd4066bp and i try also cd4016be
the transistor i use bc546 and bc557
the sound is very nice and its really working
the noice ،signal and sens is not working ...
The signal and sens is for 4538  cus of that i think this model of ic not working ...

   Sounds like you my have strayed away from the Original Schematic a few too many times ? 

   For the Application this circuit is using the 4538 I'm sure any versions Buffered or Un Buffered should work fine. 

Assuming the 4538 are being provided with correct voltages and ground :

If they are not Changing States the chip is bad or it's not being triggered.   These are set in tandem so if the first is not triggered the following will never be.

I wish to talk to you more mapy we can work togither ...
I  live in syria and we have turckish good here with signs and symboles ....i use a dowsing rod to detect it last year i find a cooper coins box  of turckish under ground 1.5 meter ...and old guns
am sure we have a gold boxes here so i want to build this detector and i swear  i ll not forget you promiss you

can delta plus 2 detect a gold box 25cm 35 cm at deep 2 meter under ground ...with 1meter search coil

hello
am here again...today i get my new 74hc4538n and when i put them the detector is working...
I want to think this set for every help they give it to me ....home fire thank you so much ...but now can you answer some q ....about the delta plus 2...
I told you its working now but i need some info about the coil.....
1_ i make  a 25cm coil ..how mant turn i must make it and whats the resistor is it 680 ohm or i must chang it ...
2_about the 110|110 cm coil ...the same q ...how many turn and the resistor what...
3_i try 25cm coil with 25 turns and 3.5 mm...and its detect 30 cm for big metal ...so its so poor ...and i try the 11 meter coil with 4mm wire and 13 turns i get also 30cm ...whats the problime now ....is the coil data or what...pleas help

and i see some thing in my  detector ..
1_The both led red and green is working always is that normal...
2_the sens_signal_nois...when i try to set them nothing change....is that okay...
3_the detector can detect my hands when i come near to the coil about 25cm...and also the speaker the same ...if i put my hand up of it the sound chang also any metal near to the speaker the detector is detect it ...the sound change..
4_the j3....in the circuit i put it  i use 3way switch with 3 lines going out...when i keep it in the madel the detector work...when i chang it up the detector become cilent no sound...and when i put it down ...the sound working but no detect any metal ...i  do the circuit the same evert thing ...
Pleas after you read my q answer me sir ...

  Good Stuff.  Glad your back in the show again  .   These things just take time to sort out mostly, eaa?

Here is some coil info you may find useful.  As for Damping you need to set that at Required.  The 680 Ohm was just a Ball Park value I think.

I ll try to do the same coil info..
My last q is
what is the j3 switch in the circuit...
It have three pin out..
I use a switch with three pin also
is that right....
When switch it down the detector not detect any thing....and if i switch it for up there is no sound ....if i qeep it in the madel some times working and detect and some times no sound...
I want to know why this switch and how its work
