Do not waste your money you can use Plastic box without any problem.
If you want to shield DP from electromagnetic noise, try an aluminum foil inside of plastic box that connected to GND.
Are you completed the DP and it work nice?
I think the problem is in my coil
Can you test a coil with this specification ?30cm Diameter of 0.5mm wire in 35 turns??
(2.6 Ohm ? 1.044 mH)

Did you construct the DP from schematic (you design a PCB yourself) or you used the PCB in the forum ?

My friends this circuit will go to mad me!  Crazy  Crazy No no!  Thumbs Down
After more try, I found that one of 4066 was ill. I changed it but now I have a new and strange problem.
When I turn it on, I have normal continued sound it dies by pressing TUN key. By tuning of volumes, I have a normal TIK, TIK sound but the coil never detects any metal. In untuned format of circuit by closing of metal parts to coil the continued sound, go mute.

I came across this Sniffer semi-kit in ebay.co.uk and thought it could be be a fun project:

As my knowledge of electronics is limited to putting batteries in or plugging a device into an outlet, I intend to enlist the services of a friendly TV repairman to help me out. Your opinions on this Sniffer semi-kit, please. Is it worthwhile to build?
