Hello Golddigger  Smiley
Ok I'll return the LF357, although it is apparently working with the TL081.
Thanks  Great

Wilson, you might try AD844 in place of the LF357. I heard it works well in another design that had the LF357, but I'm not certain about how it will perform in the Delta Pulse.

The fact is that you can always get lucky. What you sometimes get is a re-labeled genuine LF357 in a TL081 package. If you look at the specs, the former has a bandwidth of 20Mhz and the latter bandwidth of 3Mhz. It falls below the requirements by a great deal. Now, if you got lucky, good for you. For me, as an electronics engineer and adviser to the many beginner DIYs here, I cannot in good conscience recommend a substitution with the TL081.

I do hope you understand and back off a bit on the sarcasm. My background in this field spans many decades.

EUGENE CAN HELP ME BUILD DELTA PULSE XR 71, CAN EMAIL ME at svroz@yahoo.com IMFORMATION HOW MUCH IT will COST TO BUILD AND ORDER PARTS FROM YOU

Hello Line . Several people from this Forum have asked me to build Metal Detector circuits .
It is a great opportunity for me if I have the free time . The work I do for a living involves an unpredictable schedule and long distance travel . So before I make any promises , I have to know a head of time that I will be home for at least a few weeks [minimum]. The other problem is so far everyone who asks me to do this is overseas !! It sounds like you are in Australia ? The shipping and insurance From the United States would be expensive . Right now , SORRY ,  I have to say NO . But it might be something for me to consider in the colder winter months . I can calculate the cost of all the parts and a Circuit board . But in this economy what would be a fair price for labor , Soldering the components and testing the assembled Detector . I am sure you want to save money even after the shipping is tacked on the final price . In fact yesterday I was reading about someone I know who built a PI Metal Detector [I won't mention his or her name] and turned around and sold it . It was an advanced PIC-chip controlled PI with LCD screen , sold it for $635.00 u.s dollars "plus shipping and handling was not included" !!!  He made a good profit too. Probably the best way to go is for someone is just to sell a circuit board and a bag of the correct parts and have the option of a completed and tested circuit for "x amount of dollars" more . Everyone has to make a living , time is money of course . Maybe some other members here can give you some good or better advice !!!  In the meantime , I will do some more thinking about this opportunity . Thank-you for posting this question .

Best Regards ...............Eugene

dont use the modified schematic using the hi speed diode connected to mosfet drain and resistor connected to gate and source.

Hello Ram,

Do you think the latest schematic is no good? Why did you recommend not to use it? I was just curious if anyone has successfully built the DP with the modified schematic. So far, everyone who has built one that works used the older version.

Best,
Darren

hello darren,
in delta pulse schematic, i used the file from eugene 52, the schematic that has no tune pot and switch.
that schematic has no resistor in fet source it is directly wired to negative supply and no hi speed diode. resistor and diode can cause the dp power output less power.the very important in dp is the resistor bleeder 1watt at the coil output it should 680 ohm not 2.2k. if 2.2k is used in large coil it will burned the resistor 1k or 820 ohm in signal input from coil due to hi flyback voltage that could not be suppressed by the bleeder resistor. but in this case only the signal input resistor will get damage 2 in4148 will protect the receiver circuit.

Thank you, ram.

I just read your post about your 2nd Delta Pulse. Can you send me your EXACT files you used for it? There are too many files on the forum and it is very confusing for me. It sounds like your second one was more powerful. What modifications did you make?

I'm sorry if you have answered this before, but 42 pages of posts would take me hours to read Teach

Thank you very much,
Darren
