Hello everybody,
I do not know anything about electronics and admire you guys whom can build or modify a detectector.I own the excalibur one and two.
By reading I though that it was the FBS  technologie of 17 frequencies from 1.5khz to 25 khz. I received today the September issue of western and eastern treasures magazine with an advertising spread from Minelab.
To my surprise I read the advertising about the Excalibur.
"Powerful PI detection with discrimination"
I am sure any owner of an Excalibur would like a clarification on this matter. Are the FBS and BBS classified as pulse inductions.
I was always under the impressions that the PI never recorded with khz but rather by the number of pulses.
Your comments will be really appreciated.

Hm! This is indeed a puzzling news to me! I was always sure that the Excalibur was a VLF machine using Minelabs BBS technology. I can't believe it is a Pusle Machine and you are right that the KHZ frequencies wouldn't make any sense then.

Also I've heared that while Minelab emits several different frequencies at the same time, not all of them are getting processed Smiley

Best wishes,

Christian

Hi Christian,
I beleive vlf stand for very low frequency. The fbs and bbs are multi frequences which are I also beleive absolutely differents from the pulse induction technologie. This is why I posted my question in your technological section.

Hello Everyone . Here is an older Minelab comparison chart / ad from a pdf file . Excalibur is probably rated as the Best Salt Water / Beach Detector in the World .
Regards.......Eugene
