So is there an advantage to a quicker decay.  I've been working on a circuit that gets the pulse to decay faster. It has been suggested that faster decay would help with the detecting gold. Anyone care to give their thought on the matter. I've attached the waveforms of the typical PI pulse decay and the enhanced pulse decay(dark gray).

Too bad there isn't a waveform for nothing.  Otherwise I have a hard time interpreting the waveforms.
