Hello Eugen, yes it is still beingmanufactured and sold at around USD 1500 - 2000.00. I once owned it and thought it to be quite lousy. What's your opinion on it?

Regards,

Christian

Hello Christian ,You are right !! We can not post a schematic of the fisher 8x at this time . Anyway was your Fisher 8x new or used ? I read some good reviews but maybe there is something  "Fisher" is not telling us ? Maybe the performance varies between salt and fresh water ? Maybe it works fantastic in fresh water and lousy in salt water !! I  read it works great on land for Detecting Meteorites  :Smiley :Smiley :Smiley !!...I will post more later......Anyone else please comment about the Fisher 8x P.I. machine..........................Eugene52

Hello Eugene,

the machine was pre-owned and bought from the Mel Fisher crew. It performed well but showed very poor workmanship. Everything was crude and not what would be expected from such an expensive machine.

Regards,

Christian

The thing about the JW Fisher detectors, is that they have been built for a long time, and I don't think much has been done to update them to a much better detector. I remember them back in the early 70's when I lived not far from the place they built them. In those days they were considered a pretty good detector, they just got left behind in technology since then. If you need a really good prebuilt pulse, try an Eric Foster built detector, his company name is Pulse Power Developments in Great Britian. He builds industrial as well as hand built pulse detectors for the individual. Very nice construction also.

You hit the nail on its head! That's exactly what I'm thinking. The just forgot or saw no need to update their designs while other manufacturers kept in being up to date.

In my oppinion Eric Foster currently builds the fintes underwater PI machines. His Aquapulse is still my prefered PI detector.

Christian

In addition to this, the Goldscan 5 is in the 3rd update, called the Goldscan 5C. Just goes to show you that Eric is constantly working on improving his detectors. I have owned 3 of his detectors so far and never had any problems with them. The Aquapulse is a pulse that is waterproof and was done after he couldn't get any more housings for the waterproof Aquastar. There is a different circuit in it also, mainly the Beachscan circuit, but in a waterproof case. I had a Beachscan several years ago. Did a nice job, but no discriminate either.
