Hello Paolo,i give you some tips
First  at ALL
disconnect the fet IRF 740
Then  you must check;

1)voltages +5,-5V, 12V
2) output  of the 555.... the Frequency of PPS
3) width of the pulse PPS
when you have the pulse and width  conform ok
4) check the output  timing of the 4538'S (see  my schematic  you have the test point !!!)

Then you can connect the fet  740

and see the signal output of first amp
-all the preset  adjust to zero volt  see the schematic it is write on it....
you must adjust  step per step  and all  will work fine
luck Alexis.

thanks for the info alex!!!

the frequency of pin 3 is 400Hz, with potentiometer (freq.) on min, and 466Hz on max.

rv8 isn't connected in this way. I checked the connections on an original goldscan card.
also in this scheme, the jfet are connected in wrong way.

Go Up Go Down

Hi all

I have just been reading threw all the posts on the GS4 and I am very interested in building it,  I have build the Hammer Head and got that working good and its a good beach machine.  I live in central Victoria right in the golden triangle so I am more interested in gold and I have tried the HH here and the ground effect is really bad so I am hoping to have more luck with this machine.  I found the pcb and schematic on the first page and they look good, I saw the pictures of some people who completed the board and just wanted to know, did they actually work ?   I don't mind fault finding but did not want to build it if there was any major flaw.

Thanks for anyone's advice
