Sorry mate no can do. What you are looking for is only to be found in story books. I suggest that you do some research then get back to me with some realistic idea of what you want.

Go Up Go Down

Hi yall,

i do have a working Miner4 (the machine, circuit and SW) capable of detecting large objects at 3m max (1m x1m coil), and coins (of a 1 EUR size) up to 25 cm. It has two (obsolete) Atmel PICs and it's not exactly the best machine i have ever seen or built, so i am not shure it is worth building at all.

But it shure is a good model for further developement, integrating the whole area under the coil discharge curve gives an option for a discriminator in PI devices, however, to do that properly, one would need at least an 1,2GHz cortex. Not quite a home basement project or is it?

Regards,
d.

Atmel and PIC are two different companies. Try again.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Let me try again: ATmega32 RISC Processor by ATmel (not Microchip Tec.)(or Peripherial Interphace Controller as Microchip Tech. would probably name the line of ICs).

Thanks, but i don't really see how this is relevant (unless for the shareholders of both Companies)

lol,
d.

PI or VLF? from the sound of things you have a PI with a PIC Micro design in mind, if that's the case then I'd suggest that you do a dual coil design. I'm also working on a new design but mine if VLF PI is good for depth but I've yet to figure out a way to use DSP to distinguish between ferrous and non-ferrous metals.  I don't need discrimination all I want is to know if it ferrous or not  Smiley

PI ofcourse. Well, for the "fast fingers" there will most probably be the reincanation of oldfashion analog DBP2010 or 2011 if you wish, with the same idea of integrator circuit but double the coil driving voltage (and 4 time the pulse energy) going down to 6m (from original 4), i hope soon the stabil and reliable working version will be availabel and published.

On the long run, i was thinking about perhaps not so clasic idea to run the coil from high voltage generator and fast discharge type capacitor (rather than slow electrolitic) optaining pulses of higher magnetic density and shorter duration, while choping out the discharge cutve of interest with fast switch (ie. scr) rather than just clipping it off with (supresor)diode. Digitalising, and integrating enought area to implement diamagnetic/paramagnetic discrimination (as common in known models).

Regards,
d.
