Go Up Go Down

I have just taken delivery of some rather nice rev D boards in BLUE

To make ordering a bit easier, rather than using a PM I have created an online shop with paypal checkout and the option for tracked Airmail in certain countries

Why not have a look ? silverdog dot co dot uk

Also in the shop are various spare components that I have gathered whilst building my projects,
I hope they may assist someone who has difficulty sourcing parts locally

Any profit will be used to produce more boards and a wider selection of components,
hopefully building over time into a nice little resource for the hobby detector builder

Hopefully it is all working ok !!

Remember I am in the UK so please allow plenty of time for delivery, particularly using the economy airmail service (typically 10-14 days)

Payment is now in pounds sterling as Paypal charge per transaction and again for me to convert into pounds !

I still do surf Pi kits - just added them to the shop

Big discount for 2 kits (basically the second half price)

Cash is always a good option  Smiley

PM/email me if you need my address again

err  - that wasn't me !  Sad

I think you are referring to plumabob on geotech

"I've been experimenting with some different coil sizes and specs. Using 22AWG teflon coated stranded wire and using BB Sailors fast mono coil build as a guide, I hit upon what may be the optimum design. Here are the specs, coil measures 9.5 inches, .291mH, .83R. Construction is as follows. Started by forming coil, sewing with dental floss and using electrical tape to hold everything together. Then used 1/8th spiral wrap, followed by more tape. Then wrapped with a very flexible cloth tape ( 3M micropore ) and followed by more electrical tape to thicken it up a bit further. Shielded with scotch 1190 followed with a final wrap of electrical tape.

Not sure of the sampling speed but it does sample at the lowest possible delay adjustment on the Surf PI board. In other words I can not turn the pot any lower. I was very surprised with the following results as my other similar sizes coils I tried would come no way near them. This coil will see some very small pieces of gold jewelry and can hit a nickel at 15 inches. I know some skeptics will not believe this but build a similar coil yourself before you knock my results.

Right now I'm potting it up and will go for a field test of sorts soon. For a cable I'm using an Minelab Explorer factory cable. Cable is a dual coax design and very flexible.
Well there you have it. I hope someone else can build a similar one so that results can be shared and compared."

I'll have to see if I can find some similar wire myself and give it a go

OOOH I think your Right.

That's the post I was thinking about.

Do you know how far down the Sample delay will go down on the Surf?

I can't seem to find any documents on it.

It doesnt mater, it's just a resistor that does it.

Your Still the Man!
