Hi people!

Just dropping by to say hello...

Currently troubleshooting my new completion Sabre.....

As I suspected, I am getting less than -5V from the negative voltage regulator...In fact it is only -2.5V.....will this be enough?

I need your opinion please...

Many thanks..

P.S.

Planning to generate a -voltage source using a 555 timer..........

No it's not enough?
Change base resistors of negative charge pump to 2k2 or 1k and put a bigger resistors about 10k or more from base of PNP to +8V and base of NPN to ground. Check both transistors to have similar β (H21e) > 100. Also check both 1n4148 and el-cond. You must inject more base current and collector current is β*Ib.
A have no time but you can aks FOMA at

Hey kotsansher, thanks for the nice pic?s of my hot-sought-after quarry.

I?m adding them to my scrap book that I use when I?m in the field to help identify meteor-rights instead of meteor-wrongs and especially reduce the amount of Leverites!!

I stole that from a video where the two guys were questioning a stone they picked up, and after analyzing it, the one said to the other, ?that?s not a meteorite, that?s Leverite?. ?Well, what does that mean? That mean you throw it over your shoulder and leave her right there!? (cracked me up)
I guess when one is out hunting for all these elusive goodies one has time to develop a more refined sense of humor.

Anyway, my buddy and I are very close to building a Delta Pulse / XR71.

If anyone knows where I might get a pc board or a surface mount board, that would push us over the edge and we would start immediately. Unfortunately I?m the guy who gets to do the soldering, so all those little wires all over the place, starts to fry my brain after awhile.

I?m sure I?ll be back begging for mercy.

I missed this post earlier but the answer to your question is, no. The -5 volts needs to be that low not -2.5.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Hi all,

Just dropping by...I'm almost done with the Golden Sabre...unluckily the FETs aren't available in our locality...have done my order for the FET and I'am looking forward for a replacement that is locally available...

What number are you seeking? Is it a low power FET of High current?

A 2N3819, for instance can be replaced by a MPS102, sometimes listed as MPF.

I get my stuff from a supplier in Texas... they have all kinds of surplus stuff.... of course I am not sure where you are, the flag looks like Cuba.  Shocked Shocked

You might have to get a relative to buy it, in that case.

The company is

They have more FETs than Iran has Mullahs.

Wait a minute!

How many volts are you feeding into the regulator.... if it is too close to 5 volts and the regulator is not a low dropout regulator, it will never put out 5 volts. Also you may have too much of a load on the regulator, especially if it has an L in the designation, as they are limited to around 100ma.

A 555 will not give much power/current, but I have a circuit that might work, if you really think that is the answer. But its only for + v supply unless you reverse some of the parts.

ANY -5 v regulator will give -5 v unless some of the above conditions exist, try an ammeter (ma) between the regulator and the load.
