Now i have build a coil with a Cat 6 e Networkcable. The erroneous signals are better. But on this version of coil i have to set the guard intervall up to 42!! the unshielded coil needs only 25 ....

What does the Barrier +/- Value changed?

By the way, which value for the L1 resistor on chance board is recommended? I would like to replace the resistor against a choke coil.

hello firebox, i have seen a post with cat5 cable 4 turns for chance pi with good results , for 400uh 1.7ohm the guard interval is near value 20, how is the sensibility to gold , copper and silver? and 1 euro coin?  the barrier is the gain, lower value more gain. the L1 value is 220uh , choose choke with 220uh and 500ma current value .

Hi Supergold! the results of the networkcoil is good, but i can´t reduce the guard intervall lower than 42 and Barrier is 5:

50 Pfennig Silbermünze (German Silver Coin from 1877 ) detects the chance in 6,7 inches (17 cm)
1 Euro in 9 inches (23 cm)..... 5 Cent copper in 6 inches .....

today my chance become a new Display (blue) but thats very dark! without a Backlight i can see nothing on it! So i need permanent Backlight for the LCD!  The problem is, the chance doesent store the light status in memory, so i need a other method to set the backlight permanent ON

How can i do this ?

Regards

your problem will be small objects of gold , the detector will not  see them, give a try on that..., you have the guard interval on 42 because you have  too much inductance try another kind (type) of cable maybe cat5 with shield . ............ now the light,  disconnect the pin 16 cable from the PCB, and  connect on the display side with a resistor of 500 ohm or higher to ground on board if light is low reduce the value of the resistor until you get good light, then connect by switch.

you have a big choke there,  Grin almost the coil size  Shocked what inductance it is?

  Grin Grin

Many people say that the L1 resistance choke is not a good solution on Chance Board. So I have took a choke coil like this one  Wink  it has 150 uHenry inductance, it should be better, but I do not feel any different to my old resistance choke  Sad

Name is:
TALEMA DPU150A3

You mean i have a high inductance coil ?? I only have 380 uH and 1,7 Ohm on the networkcable Coil  Waveing  i think the problem is the shielding on the Cat 6e Cable not the inductance ...

regards
