Already created the real pcb, I just need to receive the diodes her208, crystal and icl7660S that I will receive in my house. Tomorrow I will start the search of the screen that I did not have time.

I have placed condensers 22pf type lentil for the crystal and have checked possible short circuits with multimeter and everything the correct one.

While there come the pieces that are absent I will devote myself to construct an insole for the bobbin.

If you notice errors, let me know. A greeting.

The Coil properties are  L = 400 uH, R = 1,7, C= around 40 pF or little, diamm 10 inch.
Eugene if you can find a teflon insulated wire you can try to make ultra fast spider coil with a very little self capacitanse and got a selfmade coil better of Minelabs coils. I think so.

Does anybody know how many windings and which wire to make this coil? It looks damn good!

In the top right hand corner we have a search box.  Key word Spider Coil should get you some info.

Go Up Go Down

After much to fight I think that I have formed atmega8-16pu satisfactorily. Now I have doubts.

1) can Someone indicate me a list of the points that I have to measure before introducing the atmega?

2) it worries Me that LCD + (pin 15 lcd) comes 11,8v according to my assembly of the circuit.

3) Through the fault of The point 2 I think that I have spoilt a screen, it does not ignite or also it can be that my screen needs 5v and only it has 3.2v of exit in 78l05. I am a lot of time trying to create the metal detector, I hope that someone could give a bit of light.

Don't know if this is old news. Being grounded for 8 week following a back op I have done some searching to c any advancement in the chance pi development. Things have moved on and there have been improvements as there is a newer version of chance....2nd chance.

It is easy to change the original chance to 2nd chance by deleting components and reprogramming the CPU
One can download info from this thread. The coils design still remains the same

v012 is available

Because of question from users I have to clarify a little bit ...
Entire Q6 solution was a bit "fictious" in the original Chance PI. It did not work properly in fact
did nothing usefull instead of additional and unwanted 100mA power drain
So I do not drive Q6 in the 2nd Chance and I have changed the way of coil driving.
For instance the original Q6 solution drains 180mA but my solution drains 80mA.
Is there any difference?
Like I said Q6 solution was not succesfull
Should not be difference if Q6 circuit is placed or removed from PCB when using my software.
In my software Q6 is driven as inactive whole time. The ICL7660 / LT1054
is enabled whole time also.

So, simplifying, my release should be backward compatible. I do not test it at all.
For purity reasons I have removed Q6 circuit from my pcb completly and new schematic diagram and pcb.

By the way, a few things good to know about 2nd Chance PI:
- OK button pressed whilst starting restores default settings
- Menu button pressed whilst starting direcly into menu without battery test.
It can be usefull when you set battery U min level higher than voltage battery you have.
Normally you will see "low battery". So use this method.
- Default settings are proper in my case. Everyone should test the device and enter own settings
