Hi guys

The instability on my detector has been resolved, it proved to be the connector from the coil to the box that was causing me all the problem however now I have lost ground penetration any idea's?

All the best
Xavier

Hi xavier
Any detector type? - whether was working previously in any situation and what led to the new change that has occurred?

best time

j.

Maybe you need to monkey with the damping resistor?    Maybe that old connector had some resistance to it?

Funny you should mention the damping resistor I was thinking that there was a resistance in the plug that would have affected the damping resistor too.

Hi Japanese

This is a modified version of the DBP2010 works great just had the instability problem but having resolved that caused a new problem now with the depth (will have a look at that damping resistor)

All the best
Xavier

That's the only thing I could think of as you just changed the connerter....    I know you would never leave a cold solder joint!  LOL! Tongue

No no cold solder joints are not my thing. I'm going to use a variable damping resistor to get the right resistance or I could try and do a simulation on SPICE that would be a good exercise for me as I'm new to SPICE come to think of it, it would take me so long it just aint worth it back to plan A LOL.

Grin Grin That's what I kept saying then I stumbled across a video explaining the basics of it but of course what's the point of just watching the video so I downloaded SPICE4 the free version well that and the tutorial got me fired up LOL now I'm just looking for an excuse to use it.

Hi xavier
             equation all resistance= resistance coil+ resistance cable + {resistance of FET}{Cancel because he has 2 TR} =6 OHM
damping resistor= 390 ~ 680 {Depending on what requests}

best time

Thanks Japanese

But I don't quite get your formula my coil is 3R with the coax so how do you get a damping resistor of 390R?

Regards Xavier
