Charley - I'd recommend looking at the Whites MXT, as it will likely work just as well as the XLT and also makes a good nugget hunter, should you decide to give that a go.  I don't know anything about the Garrett model.  But the MXT is basically a modification of the Gold Master GMT It is a very good unit for the price and is arguably a better machine than the XLT or the DFX.

If you are looking for a pulse machine, the Garrett Infinum LS is the lowest priced unit I've found in the U.S. market, retailing at just over $1000.  The Whites TDI is the next in line, retailing just below $1600.  Both are good.  I will argue that the TDI is better, though not waterproof - cant take it diving... But it is much lighter in weight than the Infinium and is perfectly balanced.  You would get more time swinging before fatigue sets in with the TDI.  Food for thought...

It would sure be nice if anyone buys this detector to see who makes it. Maybe the manufacture would part with a schematic.

Why do people take chances. GREED, or NEED. I want a Minelab 4500. Who doesn't.  The  word CLone is a word that says this is exactly the same item as the other one. Dolly the Sheep was a Clone.  Now you have a metal detector that doesn't look the same, it is not a clone. If it doesn't have the same innards, it is not a clone,it isnot even a good knockoff  We all need a real Minelab.

Now for the Greed

Someone wants you to believe that Minelab is a bad company making unreal profits. There is a company you've never heard of saying we will sell you our 4500F model for 10% the cost of a real one, and still make money.  I did not see the fine print about the  bad knockoff being a PI machine.

Selling the Sizzle, not the Steak
