Thanks 6666
Spent more time on this project than any of the others.
Had it with me last week in cornwall uk, brougnt back mainly military finds of 2nd world war.
The 6" coil worked like a dream pulling 1940 303 shells and another bottom of miliner 36mm at well over 12" with solid readings and display running well over halfway from wet sand around rocks far better than air tests, so goes to prove what ive said all along, air tests mean nothing.
I was only able to do 2hrs stints each time because of tides only access was going down cliff face with rope, that once years ago had steps for public access, had to leave hundreds of fishing wights etc behind due to problems getting back up the cliff surface, next time shall drop two ropes one a big bucket on the end.
There were deeper larger objects there but its was all time factor, but next time will be more organised.
The dual coil was crap like the first one i built, so back to the drawing board on that one, its not scrap because they both seem to work quite well on there own.
Next job is splitting the circuit some how to use TX/RX coil rather than dual field in series, Any suggestons??, simple to do on the surf pi, but thats a different breed machine.
When i find the time to do that will take lots of internal pictures as promised for any of you that fancys the challenge of making this brilliant peace of kit.
Warm

Dave

I was thinking... very dangrious lol
hope not
I may consider if any of you fancy going for this project and either not able or dont desire to make the PCB boards or maybe put off by the programming of the ATMega8 chip, perhaps at a price working out a kit for you.
If theres enough interest shown will work out a price but only after ive made a second assembly to prove no shadow of doubt its buildable without all the hassel that I went through with this first one.
Theres no reason why I couldnt post it with working circuit diagram and building procedure from start to finish as like im posting on here.
Would have to check with moderators on here because dont want to burn toes and also if theres any copy rights because the original designers put alot of work into this project and they deserve to be consulted if there still around.
Anyway thats fucture thoughts if theres enough interest, because I like helping people here and in Geotech as ive learned so much from these two forums in the past its giving something back.
Regards
Dave
