Dear All,
I finished building the dbp 2010 PI metal detector as shown in the picture. seems to be working and the ticking sound is OK. i can adjust the ticking speed with the controls . but when moving any metal object near the coil does nothing,  the sound is the same as if the search coil is not reacting with metallic objects. what could be wrong???
i read in on of the posts to change R34 (680 ohms) depending on the coil. but if the detector can be balanced to 3-5 ticks per second then the coil should react against metal objects. is that right???

did anyone face this kind of problem after building the detector???

Please help....

Do you have any test equipment? You first need to verify your power sources and then see if your coil has a signal to it. There is no way to guess what is wrong.

You failed to answer my question. Having 9v indicates there is a serious problem. You should see up to 400v on the coil, not 9v.

Now, please tell me what test equipment you have.

I'll have a look at the schematic later and see if I can make some reasonable suggestions.

Now there is the same old issue of which schematic is correct. I'm afraid it is impossible to help you without doing some precise measurements with a scope.
