Hi all,

yesterday I received my surf pi kits from silverdog. One kit is missing some components but I was able to finish one pcb by using the missing components from the other kit. I didn't test the board yet because I don't have a battery holder and I have also a question about the power supply. Can I use 6 penlites or a 9v battery (aa 1,5v) to power the board, do I need an additional voltage regulator for that. If so which one is recommended?

I'll post my progress in this topic.

grtz

I can't believe that you never received an answer to this post. No you do not need an additional voltage regulator. You can use 8 x AA batteries but don't use a 9v as it will not last long and they are expensive, I used a 12v lead acid battery to drive mine (1.2AH)

Regards
