Hello the Silverdog Surf PI 1.2 kit is straight forward to build, coils and depth can be fun try for 300uH inductance, use the Whites Surf Master PI IC values, there is a great deal of information on the Geotech1 forum, but it is scattered, I did start a thread there and asked lots of questions and I think I got most of the answers. What ever you do may you have fun and success. K.

Hey Kenny,

How's it going over there across the pond? Any luck at the beach with that Delta? Haven't heard from you since last year? Grin

A bad day at gold prospecting or metal detecting is better than a good day at work.

Silver Dogs PCB's are Top Notch.   The PI serf had a issue with r22 and 18 being transposed but that was cleared up.     I have a Kit with that issue not put together but I know the issue so not worried.  A few times time folks have received double parts or the Wrong parts but he has made it Good.

His kits are as good or better then any of the old day like  HP or Heath Kit.

I wish they had somewhere you could find the latest corrections all in one place. You could read the forums for weeks and still miss a a component that was changed or wrong etc.

Go Up Go Down

Hello Dusty your right, today is the last day of week one of the calendar so 51 more of these and it will be next year. Today I have the Hospital (again) for a CT scan with contrast, that is really two scans with the second scan being done after they pump iodine or something into my body. They are looking to see how the cancers have settled down after the radiotherapy I had, I am though coughing madly and if I do not get better then I will get worse. As for detecting it has been too cold here of me I suffer badly from the cold because of the huge amounts of chemotherapy they gave me, but I did get some minutes in the back garden, found a bolt head, a nail and a UK 1 penny piece, sadly new and not old.  However I have been in contact with my cousins in Australia and have discussed an open ended plan about going out there and visiting the gold fields, my health allowing, I also sent out there two "Surf PI 1.2" detector pcb's for my younger cousin to build or have built by the tech boys at the university as he teaches something. All this though will not be until October/November which is when the uni closes down for the summer and he get some free time, he also offered to drive us across the Nullarbor plain and that is a 3 day drive. So if I get a good result from today and I can get stronger then that is something to look forward to. It is though a day on a plane depending which way we can fly. These are my post codes, if you stick them in Google maps you can see approximately where our homes are, presently we are at the southerly address for the cancer treatment. Hope you are good. This picture is my latest project, but I am watching a Tekentics G2.

Hi please ask me or look for me on Geotech1 for questions and answers, I am not high tech, I am just in front of you. Built 3 pcb's up. Kenny444

Hey Kenny,

We are all hoping here that you make it to Australia this year. The gold there is a lot bigger than most places. I didn't see a picture of your latest project on this post. Right now I am using my Tesoro Vaquero (Spanish for Treasure Cowboy Grin) in the local parks. It has a 5 X10 elliptical DD coil and works pretty well.
We have gold here too in a band that runs diagonally NW from Bisbee AZ to Kingman AZ. Phoenix is about 30 miles south of the southern edge of the band and the band averages about 35 miles wide and 475 miles long. The southern part of Arizona has a gold area too. Hope your detecting luck gets better and you get a chance to work the beach real soon. Lots of jewelry to be found there.

I tried to join the Geotech1 site, but I use Hotmail, and they don't like it because of spam users. I can look at the diagrams of some detectors, but nothing on the forum.

Dusty Carl
