i am interested in the archived stuff, and also i have some questions concerning integrated circuits for the pulse detectors...there are substitutes at the suppliers, are they ok?  some of the numbers do not match but the nomenclature does....thanks for sharing your wisdom!     Detecting Great

It usually is fine to substitute. The reason is the low frequencies that detectors utilize. If your circuit operates at higher than 1 Mhz then care must be taken. Also, if you have specialized ICs like Schotky circuits, a normal IC will most likely not work correctly. Some linear circuits are critically matched to circuits, too. Ask here if you have any doubts. We have a number of highly qualified people here who are happy to offer advice.
