Hi,

I came across this PI Detector while scanning the web for something else. Don't know if anyone else has had any experience with it, but it looks interesting. The $1595 price tag is a little to high for me. It has great depth penetration and sensitivity (coke can at 5 feet). Probably not good for small nuggets, but great for relic and large buried targets. check it out and see what you think about it. They are located in USA.

A bad day at gold prospecting or metal detecting is better than a good day at work.

Interesting concept Carl but at the end of the day, do you really need to have the display? I can hear with my PI if the object is close to the surface or not and quite often I can tell if it's large or not but then I'm not looking for objects at 150cm in the ground either. The price is a bit steep but I would imagine that it took many months of research and development work but. If I had money to spare I probably would consider getting it as it sure would make a good tool.

Thanks for the input Xavier. I feel the same too, but hearing not quite as good as used to be. A visual might help in that area. Price is also a no go at this time.

Yes I can see what you mean but don't you think a simple audio amp would do the job?

The detector already has that. The display can help you determine depth and with those big coils, you will be getting some deep signals. Not sure I want to dig a 5 to 10 foot hole at my age though. Grin

Well I point blank refuse to dig deeper than 40cm so I get your point.

I saw the video clip some years ago.

Much more depth and bells and whistles than I want!  I can't afford the price either!  I think I would prefer one of Sven's PI's to that!  In the meantime I will stick to my old analog machines...   they keep me happy!  Smiley
