the reason why, commercially built good metal detectors are over priced w/c mere people have knowledge in electronics can easily build same 1/4 the cost of commercially built. but someday a wiz will post here all the schematics of those commercially built.

I think theres more to it than that, manufacturers pay highly skilled electronics experts to design and eventually build something that does the job it was intended to do in the first place.
First there is research and development, this costs a great deal of money like it or not. The second is making prototypes and testing the product. That again takes time and money. Then you have tooling up which means PCB design and construction also finding suitable components that make the finished article a saleable item. Then you have advertising and so on and so on.
Detectors such as the Pulse star 2 take a long time in development and production then the Company have to project how many units of this device they will eventually sell.  Everything costs money no one works for nothing staff expect to be paid each week and from the drawing board to the finished article many 1000's of dollars would of been spent in order that some individuals would have a special machine to do a special job.
The reason companies do not release their circuits it to stop other manufacturers from stealing their designs and technology but as with the music industry where piracy is rampant its only bound to affect the ordinary man in the street unable to afford the technology that's available on the open market. Piracy and plagiarism amount to nothing more than common theft in my opinion.
But I'm not the one committing any offences so I have nothing to concern myself with.
As we all know China is perhaps the greatest producer of counterfeit products in the world it remains to be seen just how good the so called minelab clone is going to be. Whilst I have no interest in making my own machines there are those that do. What they do is not my concern the thing is they can spend hours upon hours of labour trying to get the device working exactly the same as the factory can without the test patterns that an oscilloscope gives at the factory.

yes, but they are marketing their products that capabilities of the machine they advertised is not true in actual usage. this is more worst than piracy it is swindling.
