Depends on the size of the target, metal type and size of the search coil.

I was looking at the schematic at R19 (100K) is it a trim pot or a pot? and what is it's purpose? also do you have the coil specs for it?

 R-19-trimmer for single set of output op1 = +1.5v.Coils are standard from to PI detectors.5sm diam. -2х2 meters.
