Hi AIORIA

You still need to specify the type of soil your going to be working on also is the object your looking for large? you're not going to find much with a 2m x 2m coil other than large objects at great depths have you ever dug a hole three meters deep in the middle of the desert? or in soil with lots of slate? well neither did the guys that hid that treasure if you find a treasure deeper than one meter it's probably because it's been there for hundreds of years most treasures are found just a few inches in the ground so my advice to is this get your self a good PI with a 500mm coil (still too big if you ask me ) and go out there and have some fun by the way if you want to look for nuggets you'll need a much smaller coil 150 - 200mm max.

All the best to you
Xavier       PS Ram can build you a detector that will go up to 4m deep so can I but unless you're looking for something quite specific and you can tell it size and depth I believe that you are waisting your time and money.

Hello Xavier, thanks for the reply. The soil is mostly sand up top but in some areas (specifically were we think the treasure is buried) down at about 2 feet there is mild to moderate mineralization, river rocks, etc.
Some areas have silicate and aragonite sand but those areas are very limited.

Based on the information we have deciphered at the site, I would say the treasure is either composed of gold, silver, or copper. It is perhaps the size of a large helmet in the form of bars and is buried between 2-3 feet minimum, and 6-10 feet maximum depth.

Based on the information given, do you think this detector would be optimal for this search??

Xavier, also forgot to add something to my last post....

The treasure is believed to be of spanish origin as our research has led us to conclude so it may be very old, perhaps 100 to 300 years old......

We may be wrong though but thats what the research has led us to.

Mate with my 280mm coil I could detect that for you at 1m so with a 500mm coil you will be more than comfortable regarding the depth of your object  also what you must remember is that the larger the coil the less you can have access to the smaller areas like between rocks now we know that you will be working in sand and the depth plus the size so now if I were you I'd get a DBP2010 or a DP both are being build with very good success by the guys on the forum or just get a second hand unit there could even be a member that is selling one but that you will have to find out. I could have put a DBP2010 together for you but I'm just a tiny bit too far from you LOL

All the best hope you come right soon
Regards Xavier

Hi Danny

I changed quite a few things in order to get it to work with a small coil. The transistors have been placed the right way round but the values are the same and the schematic has been re-drawn also I made a single board instead of two boards F1 and F2 will be removed on the final board as I never get to use them but there will be a pot for off time instead. The reasoning behind this is that I want to be able to use different size coils on it. There will also be a rotary switch for when changing the coils. It has a build in pin-pointer and charger with battery full indicator the unit will also be water resistant. I plan to have it in a kit form (with coil) in a few months if all goes according to plan.

All the best
Xavier

Hi Nc-Dirty-digger

Cost me about 200 Euro but then I did have some problems I would think that if you have it all sorted out you could have a completed machine for 150 Euro but that will also depend on the materials you are using and where you get your parts. But I must admit that I am just guessing as I never buy just one part at a time I must still have the better parts to build another four of them and I have already build three. Should you wish to build this MD then post me a PM.

All the best
Xavier

bonjour Xavier,

tr?s cordialement

gilles
