Excuse me o great wizzard . A single sided board only has a layer of Cu on one side . A double sided board has a layer of Cu on both sides .  Cornelius

I just agreed with you on the construction and definition. However, you were saying that you cannot find the SINGLE SIDED BOARD and that was incorrect. Nobody has said anything about that except you. You misspoke. I corrected you but clearly you want to argue about it.

Through this entire discussion, a SINGLE BOARD version has been discussed but never has a SINGLE SIDED BOARD been discussed. Your criticism of Eugene52 and now me is getting quite irritating, Cornelius. Would you please read the posts more carefully in the future to avoid any misunderstandings like this?

cornelius I have recieved the details to make the DBP2010...Thank you very much

I hope you dont mind me asking  a few questions about it...

1)how would this machine be for the beach and surf.mainly for wet sand and saltwater.

2) are the Images in correct scale to print and do they need to be reversed ...I will be using the iron on print and method then etched with ferric chloride....

thank you kindly

Franswa . Be sure to note that the module PCB is reversed from the main board .   The module shows the component side whilethe main board is showing the soldering side .  To get the right demensions you have to check with an IC  . I am not sure the PCB will take a IC as it is .  So many of the guys have been fooling around with my schematic that I am not sure any more . Please run a check and let me know .  Cornelius
Franswa . A few corrections to the book .   In the drawing of the Module  the Tr 1  - Tr 5  are drawn as PNP  transistors  . This is wrong !  The 2N4124 is  a  NPN transistor . So the arrow inside the drawing of the transistor is wrong and should be pointed in the other direction .  In the master PCB  the C7 should be as given in the partslist =  220n .

doesn anyone notice that the transistors on the little module  have to be  NPN  instead of PNP ?

I built several detectors myself , i like classical electronics instead of microcontroller stuf.

I like the design of the DBP2010 , although  some details maybe can be optimized. I would use a power mosfet to switch the coil eg IRF450 which allows a coil reverse voltage of 500 V, thus faster decay of the pulse. I would also replace R51 bij a resistor + trimmer , ....

I posted before that you should not look at the schematic of the module but rather stay with the parts list ( this goes for the transistors in the module ) . The same goes for C7. This capacitor should be as given in the partslist  =  220 nF MKT . In order to make it clear to the lesser educated members please state  which Tr  you change to the IRF 450  ( mosfet ) . I did change R 34 into a variable resistor of 1 K Ohm . This is to find the right value where the coil works best . Believe me there is a difference in the setting of this resistor . I don't understand why you change R51 by a resistor and a trimmer .  Can you explain that to me please .  Cornelius

Hi cornelius and others that have built this machine ...before I start this project i would like to know how good it is ,has anybody done depth tests that can post it here please .
i would like to make an evaluation before I start...

I will be using it at the beach and surf wet sand and how it should perform,I already have a waterproof housing for it when its finished.

Greetings,

I am also new to this forum but really like what I am reading here. Has the DBP-2010 project been completed? Anyone build and test it yet? These types of projects can be a ton of fun however it is heartening to know the project is a fruitful one to pursue.
