I heard through the grapevine that Discovery is releasing a new two box type detector that goes 20% deeper. I will give Ron a call monday and get the scoop!

I have really thought of getting one of these units,, i hope to head to some ghost towns in the summer,, i read alot about people burying there money,, i think these units would do the trick and the price isnt that bad all it would take is one nice find of a cache to pay it off,

I had one myself a few years ago unfortunately all I could ever find is small surface trash- nothing deep.

For those that may be looking for a 2-box, there is one on ebay now. Just search for whites tm-808.

Never used this model but I'm sure it's a good one as it's from Whites. Only $100 bid so far but it still has 6 more days to go.

Garrett MH-5 ADS & White's 5900Di Pro/SL

Go Up Go Down

I use a Garrett M.H.5ADS with a depth multiplier.  I buried a coffee can 2ft deep and it found it no problem.  It also located a pipe in the yard.  Don't know exactly how deep it is though.  My biggest problem is getting the level set just right.  I owned a Gemini 3 for a while and I could never get it adjusted properly, so I went back to the Garrett w/D.Multi.  I think most of the two-boxes will find a large target at reasonable depths.  I only have experience with the two above though.  When hunting for an average cache(arms length), I use a White's 5900Di Pro/SL with a 15" searchcoil.

A man hole cover was located @ 16 ft "Known Depth" with a TM-808 and the Arc-Geo logger. You would be surprized how deep a 2 box will go.
