Two Box from Carl's site

I find that the "potcore" and bobbins and coil details are a little confusing. I cannot locate a potcore with the numbers that are listed in the document. Is there something that I could use as a substitute? Or give me some guidance?

Honestly, I'm not sure what a potcore is. I'm guessing it is something to wind magnet wire around? Any guidance you could provide would be appreciated.

If there is something simpler that would be better, I'd love to see it.
