Schematic shows a audio transformer.   Not on the board?

Schematic is not the  match.

Hello Everyone , It looks like the sprint file is the surf PI and is what he is etching already , not the Surfmaster . I do see that TIP32 was replaced with a IRF 9640.  The sprint layout is the correct PCB . Correct schematic is now posted..............Regards........Eugene

Hello vpr2064 .  Sorry I did not answer a previous post of yours on June 21 but I was 1300 miles away and no wireless signal on my laptop !! There should be no errors on the pcb . But the Schematic was the wrong P.I. , so I reposted it in 3 different places . This PI works very good .
Regards.......Eugene

I figured you were still out so no problem. i decided to build with the board to avoid any errors due to inexperience and assumed the surf pi followed the surfmaster pi schematic. I know some of the component values are different but was under the impression for the most part they were the same. maybe if you get some time can you explain the differences to me?

thanks for the confirmation on the board.

" The sprint layout is the correct PCB "      Is there some way to convert this LAY file to some thing else?

I can't open it.

Hello Homefire . I will e-mail you the software to open the sprint file . Did you know the wrong schematic I posted in January is 98 % correct !! The two schematics are originally drawn one year apart and the last version has just a few changes . The transformer is removed , R34 is changed to 30 ohms and Q2 is IRF9640 not TIP32 , and 390 ohm is used for the Damping resistor , I think !! But what I need to check and verify , is which schematic did they really use ? I think they used the second schematic and took the transformer out !! Idiot Idiot

Here are some coil specs : The original coil was 20 turns of 0.5 mm copper enamel with a 23 cm diameter . Another tech made a 24 turn of 0.35 mm enamel wire with a 21 cm diameter. I believe the inductance is around 350 uh [micro-henry] at 3.3 ohms dc resistance. Also a 1 euro coin was air tested at 26 cm distance . I will do some more checking to make things less confusing !!

Regards...........Eugene

Cool Beans!      Is there any way to convert the board image to PDF?   I need to print it out at the library to do heat transfer to foil.

go to the link i posted above and get the free viewer for lay files. if you dont setup the print option it will print it to a xps file. internet explorer opens it (it might be a plugin not sure). i set my printer up and took the copy to staples.
