The pre-paid visa and master cards have very large fee's when used outside Canada for internet shopping and money exchange conversion charges make them not worth wasting my money.  I looked into them and rejected them for that reason.  I'm probably one of a minority that still uses cash, my break with that was using Paypal, I don't even online bank except for paypal.

Can anyone make up a kit with the surf 1.2 circuit board and the most of the parts in a kit form that I could purchase using Paypal.  I'd like to build the detector but cannot find a local parts store that is willing to help with a project since Radio Shack became the Source.  I'd attemt to build the circuit board but cannot find the right copper clad board in an etch kit.  Even the local Ham Radio club ran the other way when asked if they could help, Hams not what it used to be.

I have some professionally made Hammerhead rev C boards left and am awaiting delivery of some Surf Pi 1.2 longboards, as designed by apberg and shown on page 1 of this thread.  Apberg kindly sent me a board he etched himself which I made and works nice!!
I am an electronics novice so it must a pretty easy project !!

I have spares of all parts so could do you a kit when the boards arrive - apart from the copper wire for the coil

I also wound a coil on to a bit of ferrite rod and made the longboard into a Pi pinpointer, works well, 1 euro coin at 10cm+

I expect the boards in approx 7 days

(homefire) Yes the SURF 1.2 long board, aprox 2 X 8

I've got lots of copper wire for the coil in lots of gauges all on spools in a big box from a motor rewinder a few years back I was saving them till the price is right but now think a project would be fun to do.

(Silverdog) when your boards come in let me know and we'll go from there, as close to a complete kit would be great.  Later I'll try to build a board from scratch I watched a Youtube video and it didn't look that hard, just don't know if I want to start with a double sided board or not I've got a small iron and good soldering tools and a laser printer that prints the jpg files ok, lots of magazine paper, and old stereo ferrite rod antennas for the pinpointer core, it's a start.  Fourty years ago I build a heathkit timing light and it still works.....

Board prices will be the same as I did for the Hammerhead boards

$12 US for 1 board inc postage
$20 US for 2 boards inc postage

I've only done a small run initially as interest in unknown and I have to pay upfront for the boards, 15 will be available for sale
I have some spare parts so if you have difficulty getting anything let me know

Reserve 1 board and most of the parts to build a detector for me, I have the coil wire and some old detector parts.  PM me to let me know the total for payment before shipping anything.

Projects 1.2 after building works immediately! Thank you ApBerg for his long PCB. It is well placed in the tube of a silicone. When the finishing touches, the photograph and it has housed.
I might add .... On the nails, needles (elongated metal objects) - a double response. Small objects made of iron can be ignored (the detuning of the delay). But the corks from beer, foil and other garbage will be yours. Of the pluses - good sensitivity to gold.

The boards for the surf PI underwater design or longboard or Surf PI "ApB" as I have called it have arrived !!!

With kind permission of ApBerg I used my contact in the far east to produce a small run of these boards.
They have arrived and have been made with a rather sexy black solder mask and are thru-hole plated

If any one would like one pm me for payment details

1 board $12 inc postage
2 boards $20 inc postage

I may have enough spare parts to offer a few complete kits (except the coil) if anyone is interested, pm for details
