I hope to be able to assist others here. I spent 5 years at Hochiki Europe, specialising in very low power devices - I was designing control panels and detectors used on Hochiki systems. We had detectors, call points, etc running at <200uA over 2km of cable (the horrible MICC powder cored cable with horrific characteristics). We were using 2 wires to carry power and full duplex serial comms at the same time. I may not answer immediately, but am happy to try and assist.

Colin.

Well, what we saw in one of the pictures was the transducers from the altimeter which came with this auction.

So, we are basically still looking at an old PI design which has a coil frame located up to 300 feet away from the electronics. Hence I think there is a signal enchancer imvolved.

Does anybody have any suggestens for a suitable signal enchancer circuit to be used with a PI design?

Regards,

Christian
