If measured in DC I would think What ever your battery Voltage is when in the ON State but that's not long enough to see on a volt meter. Your just looking to see if it's firing. A Scope would be best. That's why I said to measure in AC Volts. You should see Zero when off or not firing and Some Ac voltage between Firing. Do this without a Coil. With a Could installed your going to be getting a few hundred volts on the Flyback.
