Heard on the radio this morning the the big oil company's was reporting a 35 BILLION dollar profit thus far...

When you calculate that profit on a per share basis it doesn't come out to be very much per share (roughly the equivalent of a gallon of gas per share).   And the VAST majority of those shares are held in 401k's and other pension funds not by "fat cat oil titans" as in the days of the "Robber Barons" despite what the anti-capitalist and anti-oil people want you to believe.

Gas in my neck of the woods is $3.51-$3.65. Having to drive 100 miles a day for work I can feel the pinch. Angry

Hello Jere

Well I'm sure that it's their loss.  Wink

Hey guys,

I drive 50 miles each way into work, from Huntington Beach into Burbank. The reason is, my wife lost her job and if anyone on the forum knows CA, you usually need two incomes to live. So, with her being jobless for two years, I had to find a better paying job and those are in the Hollywood area. I design Corrugated Displays for the Entertainment Industry now (think movies and the big displays they have) and have to drive the extra distance to make the money we need to survive. On average, due to traffic my commute adds 4-5 hours a day to my regular work time in traveling., But it has to be done as RENT alone is $2,000.00. So, there's my two cents worth.... Smiley

Thanks,

Barrett

Interesting....gas/petrol or as we know it as "benzin" is....hmm....32Kc a liter, which is....one moment....math was never my strong suit...about $7.50 a gallon. Steep! What is different is that you don't need a car here to get around, as the Czech transport system will take you anywhere you need to go, either by rail or bus. I've got a car myself but only need it when I go shopping for insane big things or take a road trip with the boys Rider. Life is nice without having to need a car, more relaxing. E
