Sen. Rand Paul speaks on PATRIOT ACT

Sen. Paul defends the Constitution against the renewal of the PATRIOT Act.  We need more people like Ron and Rand Paul!!!!  Why can't this type of stuff be broadcast on mainstream tv...no its much more important to hear about Lady Gaga's new record coming out.  America need to wake up and realize how close we are to losing all our Freedom and becoming slaves living in a total Police State!  Hey Indiana residents...how does it feel to effectively have no 4th Amendment Rights anymore?!? 

"In writing for the court, Justice David Steven said that if a police officer wants to enter a home for any reason or no reason at all, a homeowner can not do anything to block the officer’s entry.

This 3-2 decision by the Indiana Supreme Court has in affect overridden the 4th amendment to the US Constitution which says;

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized- [4th Amendment to the US Constitution]

A legal precedent has now been set for Indiana residents; people have NO reasonable expectation to be secure in their persons, house, papers and effects."

i know that specifically doesn't apply down here in lil' ole NZ
but that sort of thing is happening all over the place.
the problem is people aren't doing themselves any favours by
posting all there personal details all over the web on places like
facebook and twitter and the like...
don't get me wrong, i like the web, and we need to protect god people
from the not so good, but there needs to be checks and balances that
those with the power over us need to be held to.

i only post in this thread (because i don't usually chip in on threads about
politics and religion) because i found this the other day, and i liked the message.....

The young man then told the professor that is exactly what he sees happening to America . The government keeps pushing us toward socialism and keeps spreading the free corn out in the form of programs such as supplemental income, tax credit for unearned income, tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments not to plant crops (CRP), welfare, medicine, drugs, etc, etc, etc. While we continue to lose our freedoms - just a little at a time.

One should always remember: There is no such thing as a free Lunch! Also, a politician will never provide a service for you cheaper than you can do it yourself.

So, if you see that all of this wonderful government 'help' is a problem confronting the future of democracy in America , you might want to send this on to your friends. If you think the free ride is essential to your way of life then you will probably delete this email, but God help you when the gate slams shut! "

I don't know when it was written or first published, I make no claim for it's accuracy or it's truth, but the basic message i got was that we need to keep a look out for what is being done for us . especially when told "it's for our own good"

and that's all i have to say on that.

By that logic, the flag of the United States of America has no business on any internet forum.   Just because some racist idiots decide to embrace a symbol doesn't besmirch the honor of the men (white AND black) who served under that flag.  Nor does it mean their descendants should disown them.  I'm a Texan, first, last, and always.  I disagree with most of what you post and certainly with your choice in politics, but I support your right to say it as long as you confine your remarks to the appropriate board (as you have been doing) and remain civil and courteous.

Sorry, Homie---doesn't apply here.  1st Amendment says "Congress shall make no law...." meaning the government (of the United States) shall not.  It doesn't say that the owner of a business or website can't make rules ("laws") "governing" what is or is not acceptable speech either in their establishment or on their site.  Basically the only person with any "rights" when it comes to this website is the owner.  The rest of us are here because he allows us the privilege of being here.  He has every right to ban us individually or to yank the plug on the whole site any time he wants.   Fortunately for all of us though, he's a pretty open minded and tolerant person. (does that score me any "brownie" points?) . 

czechdetectingtours.com, thank you for changing your avatar.   I'm sure some members will find the new one offensive, but it is less troublesome for the majority than was your previous.
