i recently got a old survey blueprint of my 2 acre property and i am looking for the old outhouse location any ideas of were to look

probably as far from the well as possible. I'd look for an area where weeds or grass grows taller and greener. Also usually in line with a back door. Generally they were placed on the back of the house in a shady area if possible to avoid heat in summer. Good luck!

well my back door aligns with my well there is one place that has tall grass and weeds but its quite a ways from the house i would think to far would it be on the blueprint or no

You've gotten some good advice so far but you also want to consider the prevailing winds there. If most of the winds come from the west, go downwind a bit. They'd want the odors to be driven away from the dwelling. Also, the distance to the outhouse will be far enough away to keep flies at bay but still close enough to dash out in bad weather. Away from the drinking well is definitely a must, as was stated earlier. With all that considered you may be able to triangulate a location. Call the weather bureau in your area or use the Accuweather site for information on prevailing winds in your area.

see thats what i was thinkg but the prevailing winds come from the west the well is on the farthest east side of the property. the patch of weeds is on the west side and about 500 feet from the house there is one other option i might have is behindthe one garage there is a patch on the east side about 70 feet from the backdoor

Depression in the ground is definitely a good sign (that should give you the privy, a well, a root cellar, or a grave).   When it comes to where the privy is related to the drinking well, not only do you want it away from the drinking well, but you want it to be downstream from the well's water flow or located at a level below the wells water level  (in other words, you don't want to take a chance on your privy polluting your drinking water).    How many options you have is going to depend on your topography.

Once you have a general area that you think is close,get a probing rod .You can usually find the privy pretty quick if no work has been done in the area.Good luck!
