Does anyone know where to purchase 1"-10 H expanded metal?

I have a mini Highbanker that I want to setup to capture fine gold and have seen several articles that say the best riffles are made of 1" -10 H expanded metal.

Thanks

Ernest

Thanks for the input, I'll ask about it at my local stores.

I found some once in the strangest place - an automotive parts store! Yep. It was with the off road vehicle stuff and was for putting across the front grille to keep branches and things from breaking the plastic grille on modern vehicles. It was anodized aluminum that came in colors and cost pennies.

Before I made this post, I went back to see if it was a regularly stocked item and it was. A 6 foot by 2 foot piece was $29.00. It came with mounting hardware for adapting it to the cow catcher type bars on the front of off road vehicles. Here in Australia, they call them Roo Bars or Bull Bars since their intent is to keep the kangaroos from clobbering your front end when you hit them at night.

Seldom, a Western Red Kangaroo will destroy a car in an instant. They sleep in the daytime and bounce in front of you at night. People quite often die when they hit a kangaroo without a bull bar on their car when driving on a country road. Deadly stuff.

Try a sheet metal shop that make rain gutters they might not have it but can order and cut it for you. Or a wielding shop maybe

Look for a Trailer repair outfit.   They use it all the time.   Tongue
