I've often thought about setting up a smelting operation but that project hasn't come far enough up the list. Later this year perhaps if all goes as planned.

Isn't it neat how specific gravity can work for you? Smiley

Iodine leach method seems to work well for the type of small operations most people have.Also Muriatic acid/peroxide to remove the gold plated stuff from the fingers and muriatic acid/bleach to refine them.No nitric involved,no sulphuric.Muriatic is relatively safe compared to those  two.This works so long as you do it more as a project to have fun with,but the profit ain,t bad so long as you don,t put a price on your time.Can you say retired?
