Hey: I am headed to Vermont on Sept 1 to pan for gold. Will be in the Echo Lake, Cavendish area for a week. Hope to get some colour in the pan. Maybe a nugget who knows.Anyone in that area is welcome to tag along. Also hope to swing the coil a little. Take care. Happy hunting. Harold

Good luck to you, Harold! There was someone here looking for information on gold near the Maine border. New Hampshire's not that big. Do a search for the state here and see what you turn up.

And if I haven't welcomed you to the forum yet, consider the Welcome Wagon basket sent. Do they still do that?

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Hi: Found a few very small flakes. Spent a lot of time panning. This spring I am headed to New Hampshire to the Twin river Campgound(I hope)and do some serious panning and sluicing in that area of the river. Then I hope to head to Maine and try some there and go over to Quebec and finish there. I am hooked and am liking it. Take care. Harold.

Glad to here you found some I am in the southern Vermont area Windham county have a number of streams in the area that supposed to have some color. I have one spot in Searsburg that looks good, I find a lot of garnets there. I plan on digging deeper in to the sandbars this summer should be somthing in there somewhere. I am planning on going to the wild ammanosuc? People tell that is the best place in New Hampshire We will see  Good Luck

My sister spends her summers on Ossipee Lake New Hampshire and when I left there last Sept I followed Hwy 112 and saw some serious dredging being done on the Wild Ammanosuc. It looked like 8 inch dredges being used. Those guys were serious so I am assuming that there is some serious colour there. That is where I am going to be this summer. Good luck and take care. Harold
