New Sluice no moss

(1/1)

Mudflap:
Somewhere ..... I know that narrows it down some !!..... I recently saw some information on a new sluice that does not use moss and has small hex-like indentations or pits for gold traps. Might be stamped or NCR cut. Anyone see it?

Don't remember that one .    It had Dimples and not real Riffles?

You can get Door matt like that.

Mudflap:
It had dimples and they were sort of hex or Torx shaped and the dimples were decreasing diameter within the dimple depth. Just saw it the other day and forgot to bookmark it. Looked like maybe punched on a NCR machine or maybe CNC machined but I doubt that.

I saw that one during one of my search forays on sluiceboxes, can't remember the name of it, or the company selling it. It struck me as a good finishing sluice for fines.

I think you were looking at VORTEX MAT, that is what is in the Gold Cube.

Yeah, I think you are talking about the Vortex Matting. I'm partial to the Gold Hog myself. I just use it at the head of my box and then use Miner's Moss over burlap over generic cheap rubber matting for underneath my riffles. The only reason I use anything at the head of my box is to just get a general idea of what I am getting out of a particular work site and the Gold Hog holds it where it drops rather well. Just my 2 pennies.

Cheers,

Sean

Posted on: January 01, 2014, 00:34:20So this little convo got me to looking on youtube, and I'm happy. Most of what we as prospector get fed, data wise, is hardly if ever quantifiable. All I know is what I saw was that the Gold Hog kept pieces at the head of the box better that the typical rubber mat. No, I found some good comparison videos made by Gold Hog and they go on to show all of the different types of matting that we all have come to love so much. I am now going to switch all of my matting in all of my boxes to Gold Hog. This is for two reasons. Cleaning three layers of matting at times sucks and, as it appears, Gold Hog is as efficient or more so than my current method. Search on youtube: Gold Hog Sluice and Riffle Study.

Cheers,

Sean

Anyone ever hear of the Gold Well Vortex sluice. Never have used miners moss or any sort of add-on. Search on Facebook or Google... You are not allowed to view links.
